DETAILS:
-This is a 12 week course but you can work at your own pace and finish early.
-You will be required to complete the modules, the final assessment, and submit image and video demonstrations for review in order to receive a certificate.
-You will have 12 months total in the Learning Management System (LMS) to review the course, even after certification.
-We will have weekly group webinars to review content, extend content and answer questions.
-Participants will receive monthly one-on-one coaching.
-Each student will receive access to A&I Online Yoga for additional practice and resources.
You will be required to purchase 4 books to complete this course, when you register you will receive the specific list. The cost of the additional resources will not exceed $65 (estimate based on Amazon.com pricing). You will also be expected to have basic yoga tools in order to demonstrate modifications. These can be traditional yoga blocks, straps, blankets and bolsters, or variations that accomplish the same goal. We seek to make this training practical and affordable.

Is the A&I ModiYoga Teacher Certification a Yoga Alliance Certification?
Answer:
No, we are not Yoga Alliance affiliated.
Our core value is to be inclusive and to meet the needs of EVERYbody, and this is no different for our online ModiYoga Teacher Certification course.
As a professional Instructional Designer, our founder, Kristen Smith, combined the requirements of the Yoga Alliance with additional curriculum in a modern, inclusive, and interactive online module format. We use the same major texts and concepts of a 200 hour Yoga Alliance course, but have additional resources and articles, as well, to ensure that we are keeping up with the needs of modern practitioners, while honoring tradition. Our style of yoga, ModiYoga, is also a unique form of yoga education and our platform has many of the same benefits of Yoga Alliance membership.
The Yoga Alliance only allows 20 hours of independent study out of the 200, which means that 180 hours must be direct, face-to-face contact hours. This certification is more flexible due to our comprehensive online modules and materials for independent study. We meet for weekly webinars and live practice face-to-face, but we try to accommodate several learning styles beyond lecture with our interactive learning activities within our professionally developed learning portal. It is our goal to accommodate those with unique needs, such as busy schedules or families, who would not otherwise be able to attend yoga teacher training. This also makes our training more affordable and accessible for EVERYbody.
Our face-to-face contact hours are all online via weekly webinars and one-on-one coaching, as well as online live yoga class for practice with free class admission for the first 3 months of enrollment. We also allow you to watch live webinar replays if you are unable to attend in order to maintain flexibility, which is not permitted in the Yoga Alliance. Our goal is to be a more inclusive and realistic option, which is reflected in our style of yoga and core values.
Another benefit of the A&I ModiYoga teacher certification is that in addition to preparing you to teach in person, we also train you to instruct online. In this day and age, this is modality and skillset is in high demand and provides limitless opportunity to reach your ideal clients anywhere in the world from the comfort of your home.
We also offer graduates opportunities to work with us in our virtual yoga studio, to be represented by us to find private yoga instruction contracts, and/or to affiliate with us to receive access to an affiliate-only private group with monthly continued education, exclusive access to our ModiYoga branding for class promotion, ModiYoga modification videos to share on your website or social media, liability insurance for your first year as an instructor, and promotion on our website's affiliate page.
It is also important to note that the Yoga Alliance is not an official, licensing governing board and it is not required to instruct yoga. Rather, it is a membership product; schools can become affiliated with the Yoga Alliance and instructors who become members receive branding and logos for their website and a liability insurance product. We also recognize that many yoga studios require a Yoga Alliance certificate to instruct with their studio. Therefore, our certification is not for everyone, which is why we are transparent about our choice to not affiliate with the Yoga Alliance.
